MP Baseball Association

MP Baseball Association

The Mount Pleasant Youth Baseball Association believes in the power of youth baseball to teach life lessons and build stronger individuals and communities. This is why we are excited to start offering two options to all of our players and families from the 3rd to the 6th grade. You will now have a choice between our traditional rec ball league and a travel ball team. Both styles of teams will remain entrenched in our mission to promote growth in baseball skills at all levels.  We continue to strive to develop good sportsmanship, honesty, respect, loyalty, and sense of teamwork through a safe and positive competitive environment.

If your family decides to play travel ball it is important to know that time expectations are increased to playing in approximately five weekend tournaments, which could be one or two days in duration. These tournaments will require some area travel and/or an over night stay, for example; Burlington, Iowa City, Quad Cities etc. In addition to tournaments there will be practice and scrimmages approximately 2 nights per week ending in late June or early July.

There is also an increase in the financial commitment of $250 per player. This cost will cover tournament fees, uniform, and equipment. There is financial assistance available similar to the rec league.

The board is excited to offer this opportunity as we continue to grow the game of baseball and attempt to meet the needs of all or our athletes.

7th Grade PANTHER Baseball

All Locations
5/17/21 - 7/2/21

The goal of 7th Grade Panther Baseball is to begin to develop the Student Athlete and to instill the joy of competition and sport.  This program is for Mount Pleasant and WACO students only.
Communication will begin with the student athletes and their parents on the transition from recreation sports/city leagues into the more comprehensive and competitive sports structure.  Significant emphasis on fundamentals will be stressed that will enable the individual to climb the ranks within a program. It is important to understand that the progress and development of the student athlete will take precedent over winning.
This team will practice/play three to four times a week starting the week of May 17th ending the week of June 28th. The first two weeks will just be practice with the remaining five weeks be a combination of games and practices. Most if not all of the games and practices will be at night with typical start times for games being 5:30 PM. Schedule will consist of games against other area junior high teams.
